| Since the early 1990's the web has taken over our world,
byte by byte. A Web Society has formed and I became a
part of it, I fear. This section contains Links of
Interest to those people, pets, places & things in
our web society that I find of value and some to sites that I think
you might enjoy. Many of the sites of interest were ones
that my wife and I worked on in some form or another.
Other links are to web sites of friends or people I know
and love. Some sites are ones I feel deserve recognition
and I want to support their web efforts.

| There are
some inspirational sites that I
think offer a positive message and that
is something that we all need in our
lives. Holistic Resource
Management of Texas is being managed by
Merridee McClatchy. Her husband, Bob
Anderson, has the gourmentgarlicgardens.com website and is
an old friend of mine. |
| Also, in focusing
on society, I have a couple of issues
that I feel are important enough to
support:
|

One is the no-kill animal
shelters. Many have online sites and
need volunteers and support. And, while I
understand that not all of us are animal
lovers, we were given dominion over the
creatures of this earth and that comes
with a responsibility to care for them
as best we can and that does not mean
euthanizing them when they become
inconvenient to our lives. (Vivo el perro de la pradera.)

Another relates to a site we worked on
several years ago:
The South Plains Homeless Consortium.
Working
with that group brought
homelessness to my attention. The number of homeless
in this country is surprising and,
sadly, Lubbock has relatively few services for people in need. We have too many
homeless people living behind
buildings and in substandard
housing or sleeping on a relative's couch. Maybe it is like this
everywhere. I only know about my
hometown and pray we can do better in
the future. From everything I can tell,
the guys at the SPHC
are trying to make a difference. |
